20th National Conference of Society of Indian Radiographers held.

20th National Conference of Society of Indian Radiographers (SIR) was held at National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) Bangaluru.

The theme of the conference was “Image wisely to save lives”. The conference was inaugurated by DV. Sadananda Gowda, union minister for Statistics and programme implementation and Chemicals and Fertilizers.

The guest of honor was Dr B N Gangadhar Director NIMHANS). On the occasion, presentations, group discussions and scientific sessions were held on different aspects of Radiology. “Radiology has grown in leaps and bounds in the last few decades. Newer technology and interventions have become essential part of diagnosis and treatment. Radiographers are in a challenging profession however technology has transferred radiography into modern imaging profession,” the speakers said.

The event was participated by prominent delegates from across the country.  Medical imaging technologists, executive committee members SIR from Government Medical and Dental College  Srinagar also participated in the event. They included Muhammad Sultan Najar chief MRI Technologist, Javid Rasool Shawl chief radiographer, Rauf Ahmad Laigroo senior MRI technologist), Zahoor Ahmad Bhat senior CT technologist and Rahil Yousuf  MRI technologist).
