Three people were killed and 14 others injured today after a mini-bus (JK11-6229) skidded off the road and turned turtle in Rajouri district, police said.
Two persons — Mohammad Tariq, son of Abdul Rashid of Phalni Samote and Mohammad Ashraf, son of Makhna, resident of Bhela Mohra — died on spot while third person Zulfikul, son of Abdul Shakoor succumbed to injuries later.
The accident occurred at Budhwal in the Nowshera area and those who were critically injured were airlifted to a hospital in Jammu, they said.
State minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali informed the Legislative Assembly that adequate medical facilities were being provided to the injured in Jammu and Nowshera.
Three people were killed and 14 were injured in the accident at Budhal, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution minister told the House.
He said four critically injured people were airlifted to Jammu for specialised treatment.
SSP Rajouri is monitoring the relief operation, the minister said.
Expressing grief over the death of three persons in a road accident, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has directed the Jammu divisional administration to ensure that the injured in the accident are provided all possible assistance, an official press release informed.
Later in the day, government also announced exgratia relief for those killed and injured in the accident.
