Airtel crosses 50 lakh mobile customers mark in Jammu and Kashmir.

Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”) today said that it has crossed the 50 lakh customers’ mark in Jammu & Kashmir. With this, India’s fastest mobile network has further cemented its leadership position in the state, said a spokesman.

In a recent development, over 83% of all Aircel customers in J&K ported to Airtel, once again underlining Airtel’s position as the most preferred network in J&K, he said.

The company also announced a massive network expansion drive to further scale up its high speed data services across the state. Airtel plans to expand its network footprint in the state to 11, 400 mobile sites by the end of H1 FY19 with the aim of considerably enhancing the network experience for its customers and taking high speed data services deeper into rural and unconnected areas.

By end of H1 FY 18-19, Airtel 4G will be available at 3000 more locations across the state and this expansion shall be extensively backed by making 4G services to reach some of the remotest locations of the state.
