Army chief’s statement can’t be taken as serious: ML

Muslim League (ML) Jammu and Kashmir, headed by incarcerated senior resistance leader Masarat Alam Bhat, today said the Army Chief General Bipin Rawat’s recent statement about dialogue could not be taken as serious because “such statements have often proved hallow”.

The ML at its central executive council meeting held at its head office here today, decided to take certain steps to make the party stronger and more vibrant at grassroots level, the League spokesman Abdul Ahad Parra, in a statement today, said, reiterating the pledge to continue “freedom struggle till right to self-determination is secured.”

“The people of Kashmir have rendered countless sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and the movement would be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs,” the statement said.

“We appreciate the efforts of Pakistan in highlighting the Kashmir-Issue internationally,” the statement said.
