Army organises North Kashmir Taekwondo championship

With a view to encourage young budding talents in Martial Arts and promote a culture of sports among the youth, the Army organised North Kashmir Taekwondo Championship 2018 at Naidkhai Sports Ground on 15 Jan 2018. A total of 525 Martial Arts enthusiasts from four districts i.e. Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal & Srinagar participated in the event under various categories and showcased their talent.
The main highlight of the event was a demonstration on Self Defense and Disarmament. Defence tactics for gun point hostage situation was also demonstrated for the audience. A large gathering of over 1700 spectators from different areas graced the occasion. Voluntary participation of significant number of youth from different areas of North & Central Kashmir indicates the growing talent in Martial Arts. This initiative by the Army was well appreciated by the youth and locals alike.
