Authorities on Tuesday formally invited entries for designing Srinagar Smart City logo. A notification in this regard was issued by chief executive officer (CEO) Smart City Srinagar, Syed Abid Rashid Shah.
Embrace your imagination and use your creativity skills to design a logo for the Srinagar Smart City initiative,” the notification reads.
It also announced that the best “logo design” will get a chance to be the “Logo” of the Smart City Srinagar program and the same may be used as a reference for any future communication material.All citizens and professionals are eligible for the logo contest and only single entry from each contestant will be accepted. However, the final logo will not automatically become final logo for Srinagar.
The twin capitals of Jammu and Kashmir had made it to the smart cities’ list in June 2017 after competition with other cities.
The Smart Cities Mission was launched in June 2015 by Government of India to improve basic urban infrastructure in India. “The contestants have to take care that “logo design” should communicate the wider vision of the smart city. It should be unique and should reflect the culture and the future aspirations of vibrant city of Srinagar,” the notification reads.
Contestants have also been asked that their logo designs should be easily applicable for web and print and its must be sent in high resolution file.
“No plagiarism will be entertained and no intellectual property right protected material should be used. Last date of submission is 10 December 2018. Contestants can send their soft copies of designs at [email protected] and can also submit hard copies in of JKERA Complex Rambagh Srinagar,”
“The implementation of the mission at the City level will be done by the newly created special purpose vehicle (SPV). Srinagar Smart City limited (SSCL) created for the purpose SSCL will plan, appraise, approve, release funds, implement, manage, operate, monitor and evaluate the smart city development projects,” said Syed Abid Rashid Shah.
He added that the city will transform into a world-class city, achieving a better quality of life in a sustainable environment through economic growth and citizen participation, while retaining the heritage and cultural diversity.
“Srinagar aims to be a heritage city which is clean, green and safe; and the one that provides a diverse range of housing, employment, educational and recreational opportunities to all its residents and visitors in a connected, accessible and attractive environment,” he added.
