Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday asked its cadre in Kashmir to gear up for the forthcoming Panchayat elections.
On Tuesday senior BJP leader and party general secretary (organizations), Ashok Koul presided over the meeting of district presidents and other office bearers of the party. Koul asked the party leaders to prepare for the upcoming ULB and Panchayati elections in J&K. The meeting was attended by all district presidents and all district in-charges of Kashmi region.
In the meeting, Koul directed the members to start “Awami Rabita Muhim” to reach every individual in Kashmir. “Listen to the genuine issues, grievances of the general public and forward the same to the party higher ups for their redressal,” he told the participants, adding that BJP’s policies and public dealings have been widely accepted by the general public. “I wish to see our party workers as elected representatives and I hope that the party will do well in coming ULB and Panchayat elections,” he said.
BJP’s State Vice President and MLC, Sofi Yousuf said in the meeting that people in Kashmir have embraced the party “because of its clear goal of development, prosperity of common people and good governance”. Koul also stressed on strengthening of the polling booth structure in every segment across the length and breadth of the State.
