Clerical staff association continues strike to seek end to pay anomaly..

Continuing with their strike to seek removal of the pay anomaly the J&K All Departments Clerical staff Association held a protest march from engineering complex Rajbagh to excise and taxation office Solina in support of their demand.

The members of the association while raising slogans to press for their demands said the strike will continue till their demands are met. They of the association accused the government of failing to resolve the issues of pay anomaly of clerical cadre despite recommendation by two official panels including Khanday committee in 2012.

A clerk at a government department Basharat Rashid said the committee had come up with detailed recommendations for removal of disparities in salary of pathwaris, police constables and clerics. However, he said, the recommendations were implemented only in cases of pathwaris and constables.

The Association general secretary JeelaniNaik says the strike will continue till their issued are resolved. He said last October a decision was taken by a committee constituted under the chairmanship of former finance minister HaseebDrabu to resolve the issues of the clerical cadre before implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.

But nothing has changed on the ground, since, he said.
