Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said it was a stupid idea to replace the Shankaracharya trekking hill with a concrete pavement.
“Whose stupid idea is this? We already have a motorable road that goes all the way up to the base of the stairs. @jandkgovernor should reverse this order, restore the trekking path & find out who was responsible for this,” tweeted Omar while quoted had reported how the Forest department was replacing the trekking path with concrete.
Quoting trekkers, the report had said how the natural trails and fragile ecosystem were being destroyed by using concrete.
