DGP grants scholarship to 80 wards of deceased policemen.

Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh today granted scholarship of Rs four lakh to 80 wards of deceased policemen , who died while in service due to natural or accidental deaths, a police spokesman said.

The wards who have been granted scholarship include 38 wards reading in different schools up to middle standard, 33 in higher secondary level and 9 are in under graduate classes, he said, adding that Rs 5000 each have been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund for the academic year 2018-2019.

The scholarships are granted every year for the school going children of deceased policemen to provide them assistance in pursuing education, the spokesman added.
