Drooping LT wires pose threat to Mehboob Colony residents.

Drooping LT lines at main sector, Mehboob Colony Natipora here are posing threat to lives and property of residents

A delegation from the area said the worn out wires are hanging at 10 feet above road level. “Theses wires frequently break down on the main road which is the main stop for school buses. This poses threat to the school going children and other passersby,” they said.

The residents said few years ago, LT wires fell on a cow and left her dead on the spot. They said earlier this month, the wires fell on the main entrance of a resident and a family had a narrow escape.

Aggrieved locals said that it has been more than five years since the matter was brought to the notice of the concerned AEE of the Chanapora sub-division of PDD. “Ironically, the department did not take any action,” they said.

Officials said the sub-division said although an estimate for replacement of wires was prepared two years ago, “but the work is not being executed on ground for want of funds.” The residents appealed to chief engineer PDD to take immediate action for replacement of the LT wires to avoid any untoward incident.
