Naveed and Hizbul Mujahideen militants Saddam Padder and Aadil Malik, are seen together in picture, while in another he poses with Padder, both carrying AK-47 rifles.
These pictures, in which they are seen wearing smiles and giving thumbs-up, have gone viral on the social media.
“After the pictures surfaced on social media, we have started verifying it,” said a senior police official.
Naveed was arrested by government forces in Kulgam district in June 2014. On (Feb 06) Tuesday, he managed to escape from the SMHS Hospital after he was brought there for a medical check-up.
Paddar, a Hizb commander, from Shopian, is one of the two surviving militants who often posted with Burhan Wani, the Hizb commander who was killed in 2016, triggering unrest in Kashmir Valley that lasted several months leading to the killing of nearly 90 civilians and injuring thousands of others in government forces’ action.
