Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has strongly condemned the targeting a 20-month-old girl Hiba Nisar, terming the situation in south Kashmir as that of Gaza.
“Hiba Nisar was hit in eye by pellet in Shopian on Sunday and the injury to her eye is so serious that she might lose eyesight,” Sehrai said in a statement.
“What was her fault? She is too young to understand, what has happened to her. It is outrageous and shameful act of state forces. It’s unfortunate that forces are not even sparing Kashmiri children. Anyone who truly cares about children in Kashmir particularly UNICEF should ask New Delhi to stop using children as cannon fodder in the conflict ridden Kashmir,” Sehrai said.
Paying glowing tributes to the militant, who was killed in a gunfight with the forces at Khrew on Sunday, Sehrai said, “The sacrifices can’t be forgotten and the ongoing movement has to be taken to its logical end. Kashmir issue has entered in a crucial stage and need of the hour is to show unity and remain steadfast on our resolve.”
