Geelani again barred from offering Friday prayers.

Supporting the shutdown call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) for Saturday, the Hurriyat Conference (G) today said, “We convey our feelings and people’s aspirations and sentiments through peaceful means.”Terming as ‘grim and worrisome’ the prevailing situation in the state, the Hurriyat (G) spokesman in a statement said, “In presence of seven lakh government forces the people are living a miserable life under constant threat. They are facing detentions, desecration of religious places and unabated killings. The whole state is in the grip of turmoil and violence has become a daily occurrence.”Meanwhile, the spokesman flayed the authorities for once again barring the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani from offering Friday prayers terming it as ‘brazen interference’ in religious matters.
