Geelani, Mirwaiz, Malik, Sehrai grieved at Sahil’s demise..

Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani, chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik and chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of noted writer, poet and journalist Maqbool Sahil, praying for the deceased and sympathizing with the bereaved family.
Geelani while condoling the demise extended his sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
Sahil’s death is a big loss for the entire journalist and literature fraternity of Kashmir stating that his death has created a void in field of Urdu journalism.
JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik said, “Maqbool Sahil was a humble and literary soul who faced hardships with humility and served the nation of Kashmir on social, literary and human fronts.”
Terming the news of his demise as heartbreaking, he said, “Maqbool Sahil was a Kashmiri who contributed in the field of journalism and brought the plight of his people before the rest of the world. He was a poet and writer who promoted his mother tongue and left his mark on it.”
He also expressed condolences with the bereaved family of Maqbool Sahil.
Condoling the demise, the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, hailed the deceased for his contribution to the Kashmir movement and literary work.
“He was a well wisher of the movement for which he had to serve jail term for several years,” Sehrai said in a statement.
