Govt extends deadline to settle tax issues.

Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday extended the deadline for tax settlement by one month to pave the way for smooth implementation of the Goods and Service Tax (GST), and proper settlement of unresolved issues in the old tax regime.

As per an order issued by the Finance department, the date of  depositing first installment as per the provisions of the scheme prescribed vide pervious government to settle unresolved issues in the old tax regime, has been extended by 30 days. “The due date for depositing the first installment shall now be October 14, 2018. The terms and conditions as prescribed in government order number 39-FD of 2018 dated February 2, 2018, shall however remain same for filling of remaining installments,” the order said.
