Former MLA Langate Er Rashid Thursday said the gun in Kashmir is a reaction to the broken promises that India had made with Kashmiris vis-a-vis holding the plebiscite in the state.
Addressing media at Handwara, here, he said, “While India cries everyday of being victim of the so-called Islamic terrorism, the reality is that neither Pakistan nor people like Sayeed Salahudeen, Zakir Moosa or others are threat to Indian state.”
He said it is “the Hindu religious extremists” who are “serious threat” to India’s integrity.
Demanding protection for Muslims living across the country the Awami Itehad Party Supremo staged a protest demonstration on the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition.“28 years have gone, the people responsible for demolition of the Babri Masjid have yet to be punished,” he said, adding that the construction of the Babri Masjid should be started on priority.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said that hundreds of the locals of Langate and Handwara joined the peaceful march in Handwara, which was carried out by AIP on eve of 26th anniversary of demolition of the Babri Masjid.Protesters carrying play cards in solidarity with Indian Muslims and against “right wing Hindu extremists” took the protest through main market and assembled at Main Chowk Handwara.
Rashid said that 6th December will always be remembered as the darkest day in India’s history and has in fact “exposed the so called secular face of Indian state.”
