Gurez residents face immense hardships due to absence of tunnel’.

Former deputy speaker Nazir Ahmad Gurezi on Wednesday demanded construction of a tunnel to ensure round-the- year connectivity to Gurez.Gurezi, who visited different snowbound villages of the constituency represented by him, said people of Gurez were facing immense hardships in the landlocked region due to absence of a tunnel.

“The people are facing lot of problems due to closure of road to Gurez during winters,” he said, adding that only solution to overcome the crisis is construction of a tunnel.He also demanded upgradation of Bodugam hospital to sub-district hospital to meet the long pending demand of the people of the region.

During the visit, Gurezi met people in different villages from Chakawali to Burnei.“I walked 85 kilometers on foot to have first-hand account of the problems faced by people,” he said, adding that during the visit hundreds of PDP workers pledged support to him.
