Hurriyat (G) expresses concern over detainees’ plight..

Expressing serious concern over the miserable plight of political prisoners and ongoing alleged human rights ‘violations’ being committed  by the government forces, the Hurriyat Conference (G) secretary general Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi on Wednesday said, “The present coalition government has turned the state into a hell where common people are facing the wrath of the forces and getting maimed, incarcerated and humiliated day in and day out.”

Sumjhi, in a statement condemned the continued incarceration of ailing elderly Hurriyat leader Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori and Mir Hafizullah in police stations of Sopore and Anantnag respectively. He said, “Muneeb Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat was arrested by SOG Kulgam on flimsy grounds which is a grave violation of human rights.”
