Hurriyat (M) convenor meets representatives from across the globe..

Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, convener of Hurriyat Conference (M) PaK chapter on the directions of chairman of the conglomerate Mirwaiz Umar Farooq held a special interactive session with NGOs and representatives from across the globe in Geneva currently there to attend the 37th session of UN Human Rights Council, a spokesman of Hurriyat (M) said in a statement.
The spokesman said that the convener informed them about the “pathetic plight” of the Kashmiri detainees and prisoners related to Kashmir movement. Naqshbandi informed the representatives about these detainees being shifted in violation to norms and rules to the prisons outside Kashmir in order to punish them, the spokesman said.
“He also informed them about the ill treatment meted out to resistance leaders Shabir Ahmad Shah, Advocate Shahidul Islam, Altaf Ahmed Fantosh, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Mehrajudin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Nayeeem Ahmad Khan, businessman Zahoor Watali and others at Tihar Jail New Delhi,” he said.
“He also apprised them about the continuous detention of Dr Muhammad Qasim Faktoo, who is under detention for more than 28 years and other Kashmiri leaders. He appealed the participants to mobilize global public opinion about the issue,” the spokesman said. “Naqashbandi apprised the delegates as how excessive use of force by forces against peaceful protestors has made life in Kashmir very miserable.”
Naqshbandi also raised the need of the immediate appointment of United Nations Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir and visit of UN fact finding missions to Kashmir on urgent basis, the spokesman said, adding that Hurriyat (M) convener also briefed the international media about the situation.
