IAS Probationers, Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat and Santosh Gunwantrao Sukhadeve, accompanied by their course co-ordinator Dr S. Khurshid Ul Islam called on Governor N N Vohra here on Wednesday.
Interacting with the probationers, Governor enquired about their training schedules and advised them to maintain unimpeachable integrity and work devotedly to deliver the goals of good governance, effective delivery of public services, and time-bound implementation of the various schemes for promoting welfare and development. The Governor advised the young officers to recognize that they were among the privileged few in the whole country to have been selected for serving the people of J&K and enhancing the growth and advancement of the State.
Meanwhile, Dr Pradeep Kumar Sharma, vice-chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) also called on Governor N N Vohra, who is also the Chancellor of the University, at the Raj Bhavan.
Dr Sharma briefed the Governor about the schedules of the upcoming examinations and admissions to the under-graduate and post-graduate courses; academic issues and difficulties being faced because of delays in the implementation of University Council decisions at the Government level. The Governor advised the vice-chancellor to take sustained initiatives for boosting research and extension activities for securing visible improvement in Agriculture and all its allied sectors and increasing the existing productivity levels. Regarding delays in the implementation of the University Council decisions, Governor observed that he would discuss this matter with Chief Minister.
