India, Pak will involve Kashmiris in talks: Bhat

Senior Hurriyat (M) leader and chairman of Muslim Conference, Prof Abdul Gani Bhat Tuesday predicted forward movement on Kashmir issue in 2019-2020.

Addressing a function here organised to observe the death anniversaries of Abdul Gani Lone and Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Prof Bhat said India and Pakistan will talk to each other in 2019-2020 to resolve Kashmir issue.They will also include Kashmiris in the talks. And Hurriyat Conference will represent them (Kashmiris),” Prof Bhat said.

He said Kashmiri people were the primary stakeholders in the dispute over Kashmir and “we will not accept any resolution if we are not involved”.“India and Pakistan cannot afford another war. They have no alternative than to talk to resolve Kashmir issue,” he said, adding that United Nations has not done anything in the past 70 years to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

“What the UN will do?” Prof Bhat Bhat exclaimed.Dr G M Hubbi of Kashmir Peoples Party, who participated in the commemorative function, lashed out at both India and Pakistan, saying “those who call Kashmir as “Atoot Ang (Inseparable part) broke our bones and those who call it Shah-Rag (Jugular vein)  strangulated our veins”.Among others, master Muhammad Afzal, Ghulam Nabi Zaki and Zahoor Ahmad Bhat also spoke on the occasion.
