Indo-Pak dialogue imperative to de-escalate tension in Kashmir, across borders: Dr Veeri.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference South Kashmir President Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri on Sunday urged India and Pakistan to resume meaningful dialogue for the resolution of all bilateral problems including Kashmir issue.
Dr Veeri while chairing party’s Bijbehara segment Sr workers & block committee members meeting at party office Anantnag said that he is hopeful that Imran Khan- newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan-will keep his poll promise and start a meaningful engagement with India for the resolution of problems.
“Although Prime Minister of India realized lately that muscular policy can’t resolve issues rather will complicate it to dangerous levels as has happened in Kashmir & expressed optimism that Pakistan has now elected new prime Minister & both the countries will have to come on table for the resolution of all issues they are confronting including Kashmir in the larger interest of people of the respective countries”.
NC Leader said that his party will leave no stone unturned to protect and safeguard the Article 35-A that guarantees special rights to state subjects of the state & will strive for restoration of autonomy to state.
“Our party has taken stand against the possible assault on Article 35-A and wil continue to protect it in and outside the Supreme Court,” he said
However alleged that Peoples Democratic Party which ruled the state in coalition with rightwing party BJP till recently paved way for abrogation of Article 35-A & surrendered fiscal autonomy of state to GST which has proved counter productive.
