Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the arrest of its legal expert Mir Assad-ullah of Pulwama by police.
“Mir Assadullah’s arrest is a well planned ploy to create hurdles for Jama’at to contest effectively the baseless allegations leveled by the authorities in the court of law,” a Jama’at statement said. Pulwama police before couple of days called Jama’at senior most Rukn Mir Assad-ullah and when he visited the police station he was taken into custody. Since then he is in the police custody. This amply proves that the government is not willing to allow Jama’at to approach court and contest the allegations leveled by the government while imposing ban,” the statement said.
