Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (H) chairman Javaid Ahmad Mir today expressed deep concern over the plight of political detainees lodged in various jails in and outside the Valley.
While addressing the people at Tengpora and Bemina Mir expressed grave concern over the alleged “ill-treatment” meted out to Kashmiri prisoners in various jails in J&K and outside state.“The world community especially the international organizations fighting for rights of the prisoners are turning blind eye and deaf ear to the sufferings and miseries of Kashmiri prisoners.
These organizations have failed to stop the most serious situation of human rights violations and atrocities against civilians in Kashmir by forces. The mother of Farooq Ahmad Dar passed away without seeing her son. The pro freedom leaders and other Kashmiri youths lodged in jails are not even allowed to meet their ailing parents and families. Sons are languishing in prisons, ailing mothers lying on the death beds,” Mir said.
