Pakistan-based militant group, Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) took joint responsibility along with the HizbulMujahideen for the attack in Shopian on Wednesday which killed four policemen.
A caller identifying himself as a spokesman for JeM to a news agency in Srinagar claimed responsibility for the attack. The spokesman said four policemen were killed in the attack and three weapons of the slain policemen were taken away by the assailants. He said the attack was carried out jointly by JeM and the HizbulMujahideen.
Four policemen attached to a Deputy Superintendent of Police were killed when they were travelling in a vehicle in Arhama area, two kilometers from Shopian town. They were taking the vehicle for repairs.
