Kashmiris stage protest in Britain: DFP

Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) today said the Kashmiri Diaspora in Britain held a peaceful protest on the eve of Common Wealth Day, demanding immediate halt to ‘bloodshed’ in Kashmir and release of political prisoners of Kashmir, especially senior leader Shabir Shah.
“The protesters were holding placards and banners depicting slogans like stop genocide of Kashmiris, we want freedom’ and ‘free Shabir Shah’ etc,” a DFP spokesman said in a statement.
“At the end of the protest demonstration, the solicitor of the Kashmiri Diaspora in Britain, Irshad Malik told media that Common Wealth member countries, especially Britain has the moral responsibility to find a solution to the long pending Kashmir dispute.
He informed that youth are being killed on daily basis in Kashmir and Kashmiri leaders as well as common people are being jailed every now and then,” the spokesman said.
