Reacting to the BJP leader and deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta’s statement in which he had called the Kathua girl’s rape and murder a “small matter which didn’t deserve much importance”, the Hurriyat Conference (G) general secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumji today termed it the “reflection of sick mentality.”
Sumji said the statement reflected the bigotry and prejudice. “The rape and murder in a temple is even more horrific and vindicates our claim that those supporting the accused in the gruesome incident are mentally sick,” Sumji, in a statement today, said.
He said it was unfortunate that some sick minded people in their campaign against Rohingya Muslims and nomadic tribes were creating sectarian conflict.
He said, “Politicizing brutal murder and rape of an 8-year innocent child is highly deplorable.”
