The Kashmir University (KU) has asked the teaching and non-teaching staff deputed at the main campus here from Leh and Kargil to join their original place of postings.
An order issued in this regard by the assistant registrar administration department KU has directed the deputed staff to join their original place of postings forthwith.
An official said the varsity authorities had started admission for post-graduation in English, Tourism and Geology at Leh campus while as Botany, Arabic and Information technology was started in Kargil campuses in 2015.
“The classes started from 2016 and the varsity recruited new faculty for these courses. However, some faculty members didn’t join at these two campuses and were kept in the main campus,” said the official wishing not too be named.
He said that some non-teaching staff members had also come to work in the main campus instead of their posting at Leh and Kargil campuses. “The problem is that both the campuses are without director and rector and are supervised by dean academic affairs,” he said.
He said the shifting of the faculty members marred the growth of these two campuses despite investing over Rs 90 crore for their establishment.
“Ladakh is the best place for earth science research but faculty was shifted from the Leh campus and posted in main campus,” he said
