The District Administration Shopian in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Shopian organised a daylong mega Legal Services-Cum-Awareness Camp here today at Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian.
The event was jointly inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Shopian, Dr. Owais Ahmed and Principal and District Session Judge Shopian Ashok Kumar Shavan.
The District Development Commissioner said that this is a good opportunity for the citizen of the district to get information about various developmental schemes. He also said that people should come forward and reap the benefits of all schemes provides by the government.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal and District Session Judge said through this camp the people will come to know about all major schemes and services provided by the various line departments from which they will be benefited. He added that assistance is provided to the needy population by the district line departments identified by the paralegal volunteers of the district by way of providing, financial assistance, Health Camps, Agricultural and Horticulture tools.
The departments including, labour, social welfare, Fisheries, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Industries Department, Horticulture, Agriculture, Handloom, RDD, J&K Bank and other concerned departments installed the stalls.
On the occasion the District Development Commissioner Shopian and Principal and District Session Judge Shopian distributed education assistance among 170 beneficiaries.Besides, 5 motorised tricycles and 2-wheel chairs were distributed among specially-disabled persons.
Later Principal and District Session Judge Shopian and District Development Commissioner Shopian inspected the informative stalls setup by the district line departments and enquired about the criteria and facilities being provided to the beneficiaries.
