Mehbooba appeals for cessation of hostilities on borders, reiterates her appeal for peace, dialogue

Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today appealed for cessation of hostilities on the borders in the State saying that it is the people of Jammu & Kashmir who have suffered due to the acrimony between India and Pakistan. Addressing the attestation cum passing out parade at Subsidiary Training Centre, Sheeri, here today, the Chief Minister reiterated her appeal of friendship, dialogue and reconciliation between the two South Asian neighbours to sort out issues. “How painful it is that when they should be demanding good schools, hospitals and roads, the people of border areas in the State are asking for bunkers to protect their lives”, she said while expressing her deep anguish over the loss of lives on the borders during the heavy shelling of past few days.
