Militants attack near Air Force station in Pulwama

Suspected militants attacked a vehicle of Defence Security Corps (DSC) in Malangpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.

Sources said that militants fired few gunshots at the DSC vehicle at Malangpora near the Air Force station Awantipora. The guards retaliated by firing several shots, leading to a brief exchange of fire.

Soon after the incident, government forces including the police, paramilitary CRPF and Army’s Rashtriya Rifles cordoned off the whole area to nab the attackers, they said.

DIG south Kashmir Amit Kumar confirmed that a DSC vehicle was attacked by suspected militants at Malangpora. “The area is being cordoned off,” he said.
