MP Baig, MLAs call on Governor.

Many MLAs and Members Parliament Muzaffar Hussain Baig   called on Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan here on Friday, an official spokesman said.

The spokesman said that Baig discussed important issues with Governor. The issues which were discussed included equitable development of the state and the need to ensure the high success of various schemes and programmes in the “aspirational” districts of Baramulla and Kupwara.

Governor urged Baig to remain fully involved and see that all the flagship programmes were fully implemented not only in his constituency but all over the state.

CHOWDHARY ZULFKAR ALI

Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, former Minister and MLA Darhal briefed Governor about the ongoing schemes in his constituency and projected certain demands which included attention to making educational institutions functional; upgradation of schools; establishment of Kendriya  Vidayalya at Nagrota, Rajouri; four laning of Jammu Akhnoor Pooch road; establishment of Receiving Station for Rajouri; and boosting tourism potential of Rajouri and Poonch, the spokesman said.

 

SHEIKH ISHFAQ JABBAR

Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar MLA Ganderbal informed the  Governor about the problems relating to the implementation of certain major development projects in Ganderbal district, particularly the non commencement of work to implement the new Ganderbal HE power project; function of the new unani college and shifting of Central University Kashmir from Srinagar to Ganderbal.

The Governor observed that his concerns would be urgently looked into and urged Jabbar to continue his efforts for promoting a peaceful environment in his area.

MIAN ALTAF

Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member J&K Legislative Assembly from Kangan informed the Governor about the various major developmental issues which require high priority attention in his constituency, particularly road connectivity and power generation, and issues relating to the implementation of development schemes for the tribal community in J&K.

The Governor and Mian Altaf also discussed issues relating to the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. The Governor appreciated Mian Altaf’s concerns and urged him to continue sustained efforts for promoting harmony and people’s welfare in his area.
