Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) senior vice-chairman Adul Hameed Butt today alleged that New Delhi has chosen to choke every voice of dissent and every peaceful program on human rights in Kashmir.
“Civilized world is celebrating international human rights today but Kashmiris are being killed, maimed, and looted by the government forces. International community shows utmost urgency on the rights of animals but has left humans in Kashmir at the mercy of forces,” a JKLF spokesman quoted Hameed Butt as having said addressing a meeting held regarding the International Human Rights Day today.
JKLF leader said, “Every voice of dissent is being choked and every peaceful program on human rights day h has been foiled.”
He said, “International community is today celebrating 71th anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights and India too is a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which gives fundamental rights guaranteed to the individuals. Unfortunately, however, New Delhi does not adhere to these principles. Every year more and more civilians are killed by armed forces in Jammu & Kashmir.”
Butt strongly condemned the continued detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and other leaders including Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi , Noor Muhammad Kalwla, Sheikh Abdul Rashid along with many others including social activists Shabir Ahmad Dabla and Shakil Ahmad Batkoo.
He also condemned prolonged detention of JKLF leaders including Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Siraj ud din Mir, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Abdul Rashid Magloo, Assadullah Sheikh , Ghluam Nabi Kashmiri and thousands of others in jails.
