The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday took custody of a Srinagar resident for his alleged role in a militant attack on an army camp in Nagrota, Jammu, which left seven soldiers dead.Ashiq Baba of Aloochibagh locality in Srinagar is an electrician who also deals in solar lights.
An NIA official said Baba had been arrested by the J&K police a month ago in a militancy-related case. On Tuesday, the NIA took him into custody, he said.
Recently, the NIA had arrested Tariq Ahmad Dar, a Pulwama-based timber dealer and resident of Chillipura in Shopian district, and Syed Muneer-Ul-Hasan-Qadri of Kupwara, in the same case.
The NIA official said the three persons had stayed in a hotel in Jammu and dropped the attackers outside the army camp at night before leaving for the Valley.
Two army officers and five soldiers were killed in Nagrota attack in November 2016. Army also killed the three militants.
