Pani is IGP Kashmir, Amit Kumar I/C DIG SKR

In a major reshuffle in Police, the state government today ordered transfer and postings of 12 senior police officers.

S K Mishra, Director General Prisons has been transferred and posted as Chairman cum Managing Director, J&K Police Housing Corporation while as Dilbagh Singh, Commandant General Home Guards/CD/SDRF has been posted as DG Prisons.

It is interesting to note that DG Prisons has been transferred days after an LeT militant, lodged in Srinagar’s Central Jail, escaped when he was taken to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for medical checkup. Two cops were killed by militants during the incident.

Muneer Ahmad Khan, ADGP, holding the charge of the post of IGP Kashmir has been transferred and posted as ADGP Home Guards and Security.

S P Pani, DIG south Kashmir, upon his promotion as IGP, has been posted IGP Kashmir relieving Muneer Khan.

Dinesh Rana, MD, Police Housing Corporation has been transferred and posted as IGP Armed Jammu vice Shafkat Ali Watali who has been posted IGP Armed Kashmir relieving Afadul Mujtaba.

Afadul Mujtaba has been posted as IGP Crime, however, he shall assume the charge upon retirement of Alok Puri who is retiring on Feb 28, 2018.

Jagjit Kumar, IGP Traffic J&K has been posted as IGP Tech relieving Ashkoor Ahmad Wani of additional charge.

Basant Kumar Rath, upon his promotion as IGP, has been posted as IGP Traffic J&K.

Vidhi Kumar Birdi, DIG north Kashmir has been transferred and posted as DIG central Kashmir. He shall, however, assume the charge upon the retirement of Gulam Hassan Bhat on Feb 28, 2018.

Amit Kumar, SSP CID (SB) Jammu is posted as I/C DIG south Kashmir in his own pay and grade.

Sunil Gupta, SSP CID (CI) Kashmir has been transferred and posted as I/C DIG north Kashmir in his own pay and grade.
