PM package: PDP-BJP coalition about photo-ops than work: Sagar

Senior National Conference leader Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that the lack of funds for the Prime Minister’s package had exposed PDP-BJP coalition as being “more about photo-ops than work”. He said the PDP had misled people by claiming that the alliance with the BJP was about development but three years after the package, it had little to show on the ground.
“Only thing the PDP-BJP alliance does is shuffle ministers like a pack of cards,” Sagar said in a statement in response to the Greater Kashmir story about the poor implementation of the PM’s package. In our story we had highlighted that against Rs 82000 crore package announced by the PM NarendraModi during a rally in Srinagar in November 2015, centre had so far released a meager Rs 15000 crore.
“I had sought a reply from the government about the Prime Minister’s Development Package in the assembly, the government’s response was disappointing. It said the government had spent only Rs 11,000 crore which is just 12 percent of the total package in three years. How would they spend remaining amount in two years is a big question mark on the credibility of this government,” Sagar said.
“In order to seek funds from the centre, the state government has to submit utilization certificates of the work done. However, if you see the plight of the projects, most of them have been left incomplete. So, how can they get more funds.”
