Congress party shall hold an important meeting in Srinagar on Thursday to chalk out “future strategy” in view of the present political situation in the state.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee president G A Mir was in Delhi for three days during which he called on senior party leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Amikia Soni and Ghulam Nabi Azad and discussed the prevailing political situation in the state with them, a party handout said today.
“I briefed them about the Kashmir situation,” Mir said in the statement.
He said the party leaders also discussed “organisational affairs and activities” relating to the three regions of the State. “Rahul Gandhi expressed serious concern over the political uncertainty prevailing in the State for which he held the central government directly responsible,” Mir said.
During the meeting Rahul Gandhi and Mir also discussed the strategies to be adopted with regard to strengthening the party in all the three regions of the state. The Congress president also deliberated on party’s role under the given circumstances in the State.
