Real democracy can never flourish under forced control, the Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said Thursday, day after Governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the Legislative Assembly.
Taking to twitter to express his views on the high political drama that unfolded in the state Wednesday, Mirwaiz said the “murky tamasha (drama) of Indian democracy and its local (Kashmiri) and Indian players, was exposed in Jammu and Kashmir while people watched the happenings with disgust and dismay.”
The murky tamasha of Indian democracy and its local and Indian players gets more and more exposed in J&K, while people watch with disgust and dismay! No real democracy can ever flourish under forced control, it can only be manipulations and lies as we are witnessing for the past 70 years!” Mirwaiz wrote on his twitter handle.
A high-voltage political drama was witnessed in the state yesterday after reports started doing the rounds that NC, PDP and Congress have joined hands to form the next government in the state, which is presently under Governor’s rule. However, soon after PDP president Mehbooba Mufti staked claim for government formation in the state, the Governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the Assembly, paving way for fresh elections in the State.
