Hurriyat Conference (G) today strongly flayed the state rulers for frequently caging the resistance leaders and ‘denying them the political space’.
“The repeated curbs on the leadership reflect the frustration of the rulers who have accepted defeat at the hands of people’s resilience,” the Hurriyat spokesman, in a statement today, said.
“Police on Thursday night placed under house detention Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Aga Syed Hassan al-Mosvi, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, Muhammad Ashraf Laya, Omer Adil Dar and Syed Imtiyaz Hyder,” the spokesman said, terming it as ‘dictatorial’ decision of authorities to keep resistance leaders under continuous house detention.
He said, “Despite their rhetoric for freedom of expression, the so-called rulers have turned the state into a big jail where they are strangulating the genuine voices. The people and resistance leaders are denied the political space.”
“Instead of facing resistance leaders on the political turf, the so-called rulers are using all repressive and suppressive measures against them. But this won’t break our resolve and despite all odds we will pursue freedom mission till its logical conclusion,” he added.
