Robbers loot `6 lakh cash from bank manager in Shopian

A group of armed robbers on Monday morning looted cash from a Jammu & Kashmir bank manager in Kapran hamlet of Shopian district, an official said.
He said a group of men carrying weapons stopped the bank manager when he along with his colleagues was traveling in a car bearing registration number JK18-8375 at Kapran and looted around 6 lakh cash from him.
“The gunmen ruthlessly thrashed the employees and took away the cash,” he said.
“The employees were rushed to nearby hospital for treatment and a police party from the police station concerned also rushed to the spot to investigate the incident,” he said.
“Police has taken cognizance of the matter and a case FIR number 72/2018 under sections 395 RPC & 7/25 Arms Act stands registered. Investigations have been taken up,” the official said.
