Sehrai, others pay tributes to militants, civilian killed in Shopian.

Various pro-freedom organisations and leaders have paid rich tributes to slain militants Mushtaq Ahmad, Abbas Ahmad, Khalid Farooq, Umar Majid, Hamzullah, Waseem Ahmad, and a civilian Noman Ahmed who were killed in forces firing at Batgund Shopian on Sunday.

MUHAMMAD ASHRAF SEHRAI 

Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Muhammad Ashraf Ashraf Sehrai while paying rich tributes to the six militants and a civilian youth in a statement here said, “Atrocities cannot suppress just political struggle of Kashmirs. Forces have been stifling the voice of Kashmiris, committing all sorts of atrocities and repressions but gallant people of Jammu and Kashmir are offering exemplary resistance for their cause.”

“The blood of these youth will not be allowed to go in a vain and nation will never forget the sacrifices rendered by these youth. They are our heroes and their sacrifices are part of our history,” he said, adding that, “They sacrificed their future for us and now we are duty bound to safeguard these sacrifices and pursue their mission.”

NATIONAL FRONT 

Expressing deep shock and grief over the fresh spree of killings at the hands of forces, Jammu Kashmir National Front has said, “Showering bullets and pellets on unarmed civilians is a shameful act and cannot be defended by any means.”

The National Front spokesman paid glowing tributes to the slain militants and expressed solidarity with the family of young Noman Ashraf of Balsoo Kulgam. He prayed for those unarmed civilians injured in forces action at Batagund.

JKLF (R)

JKLF (R) Chief patron barrister Ab Majid Trambu and general secretary, Wajahat Qureshi paid rich tributes to slain militants and the youth. “We are duty-bound to carry their mission till its logical end,” they said in a joint statement.

They expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

DEMOCRATIC FREEDOM PARTY 

Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party expressed deep shock and grief over the killings and termed the situation in Kashmir as bloody.

A DFP spokesman in a statement said, “Kashmiris are being wiped out by the forces and for that purpose our youth are being massacred in the garb of gunfights and clashes.”

MUHAMMAD YUSUF NAQASH

Senior Hurriyat leader and chairman Islamic Political Party JK Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, while strongly condemning the killing said in a statement said, “Delhi has virtually converted Jammu and Kashmir into a slaughter house , where innocent Kashmiri people regardless of age and gender are mercilessly being killed to crush the ongoing movement.”
