Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Muhammad Asraf Sehrai today rejected autonomy as a solution to Kashmir, saying that “Our struggle is not for restoration of autonomy or self rule.”
“Pro-India politicians should shun their fraudulent and deceitful politics. The people in the state while pursuing their rightful cause have presented unprecedented sacrifices. They are fully aware about all the people who are helping New Delhi,” Sehrai said while reacting to the statement of National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah.
“Hypocrisy and treachery is the trait of National Conference,” Sehrai said, adding that “People and particularly youth are fully aware about the treacherous role played by NC leadership.”Rejecting all roadmaps like autonomy, four-point formula, status quo or soft borders for resolving Kashmir issue , Sehrai said, “Kashmir issue could only be resolved through implementation of UN Resolutions suggesting plebiscite.”
Blaming pro- India politicians for the prevailing ‘political uncertainty and chaos’ in Jammu and Kashmir, Sehrai asked Abdullah to revisit annals of history and claimed that the he (Abdullah) was speaking against the wishes and aspirations of the people.
