President Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil on Thursday welcomed the agreement by DGMOs of India and Pakistan to “fully implement” the ceasefire pact of 2003 and stop cross border firings.
Vakil in a statement said that the ceasefire agreement should be followed by a comprehensive sustainable dialogue process. “All the parties-India, Pakistan and Hurriyat should respond positively and carve out ways for meaningful dialogue so that the prevailing bloodshed ends in Kashmir,” he added.
“I welcome the much needed move and reiterate that these welcome measures bring great relief to the people residing in the vicinity,” Vakil said.
Vakil said that the Government of India should send a formal invitation to Kashmiri separatists to prove its sincerity. “ Issuing a statement is no formal invitation,” he added.
He said, “PDP and NC never want this issue to get resolved as both these parties have a secret pact for rotation of power.” Meanwhile, Vakil condoled the demise of Amin Shakib of Sopore. “In his death we have lost a great scholar,” he added.
