South Kashmir: Tahab residents allege vandalism, thrashing by govt forces, hold protest..

The residents of Tahab village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday staged a protest against alleged thrashing of locals and vandalism of their properties by the government forces last night.
The protesters, who blocked the road leading to Pulwama town, said that the forces barged into their houses and thrashed the inmates last night after few gunshots were heard near a CRPF camp.
“At least a dozen people have sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment,” they said.
Reports on Monday night said that a CRPF sentry fired few rounds in the air after noticing suspicious movement around 8:15 pm.
When contacted, a police official said that they will investigate why people were thrashed. “A police party has been rushed to the area and they are investigating the issue,” he said.
