State BJP urges separatists to respond ‘positively’ to dialogue offer.

Urging separatist leaders to respond ‘positively’ to the New Delhi’s dialogue offer, BJP’s state president Ravinder Raina Wednesday said most likely the Ramadhan ceasefire will be extended as it has brought relief to the people.

“For long lasting peace and return of normalcy, separatists should talk to the government of India,” Raina, told   However, he hastened to add: “But they won’t talk unless Pakistan allows them to do so.”

Raina said that whosoever wants to talk with the Prime Minister, state’s chief minister or other leaders, is welcome. “They should come forward and there is nothing wrong in dialogue,” he said.

Raina’s statement comes a day after the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti exhorted upon the separatists to seize the “golden opportunity” by accepting the Centre’s offer of dialogue.

Raina hoped that peace will prevail in the valley and people will get relief in their daily life.

“There is no doubt ceasefire brought relief to the people, but there are people who are trying to sabotage it,” he said. “We made ceasefire possible and we will try to get it extended.”

He however said that a review of the security agencies would be taken into consideration before any such decision.

In an apparent reference to the killing of four BSF personnel on international border in Jammu, State BJP president said, “Pakistan again betrayed and backstabbed India.”

Earlier after his two days Kashmir visit recently, Union home minister Rajnath Singh had said that the prospect of extension of ceasefire will be taken after reviewing and assessing the security situation of the state. “After proper consultation with the public representatives and reviewing the security situation, a decision in connection with the extension of ceasefire will be taken,” he had said.
