Student killing: DeM rubbishes forces’ claim

Rubbishing the claims of the government forces that the student Umar Kumar “was killed in crossfire” in Shopian, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) spokesperson Rifat Fatima today said Umar was slain one kilometer away from the place of encounter site.

“Despite the fact that Umar was killed by a target fire, it did not ensue any debates in Indian media,” Rifat, in a statement today, said.

“On the other hand, the government forces in Zavoora themselves pelted a school bus with stones so that the issue will be played by the Indian media against the Kashmiris who are seeking their legitimate rights,” she alleged.

The spokesperson urged the resistance leadership to take the cases of civilian killings to the International Criminal Court so that the state is ‘exposed’ world over.

“Since February this year, the political prisoners lodged in different jails of Jammu and Kashmir are being shifted from one place to another to harass them,” she said.
