Traffic advisory issued to facilitate Muharram procession.

To facilitate 10th Muharram processions in summer capital of Srinagar authorities on Thursday issued traffic advisory, urging people to follow it.

In view of restrictions imposed in areas within jurisdiction of Police Station Kothibagh, all vehicles coming from Radio Kashmir crossing towards Amira Kadal would be diverted towards MA Road at Polo View Crossing and Regal Chowk Crossing, reads the advisory issued by traffic police.

It said traffic coming via road from clock tower (Ghanta Ghar) side shall be diverted towards M A Road at Palladium Lane. “In view of restrictions in five police stations of north city no-entry points will be placed at Sangeen Darwaza, Rangar Masjid & Hawal,” the advisory said, asking commuters travelling towards Soura and adjacent areas to adopt Qamarwari, Noorbagh, Sekidaffer, Soura route via Ali Jan road.

Traffic coming from Nigeen would be diverted at Kanitar and people are advised to adopt Rainawari road while as no-entry will be maintained at Botakadal, the advisory said.

“Commuters travelling towards Hazratbal shall adopt Rainawari or Fore-Shore route. Similarly Commuters travelling from Hazratbal and adjacent areas towards city center shall adopt the same route,” it said, adding no traffic will be allowed to ply from Hawal towards Nowshera or vice-versa.
