Expressing concern over the spate of killings in Shopian and Anantnag districts yesterday, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Muhammad YousufTarigami Monday said that “uncertainty was deepening in Kashmir and time has come when political leadership at all levels needs to go for political introspection.”
In a statement, he said the “unfortunate killings in Kashmir have been now limited to death count only.” “There is a need to have human approach which can pave way for durable peace in Kashmir.
But for that political leadership in India and Pakistan, whether they are in opposition or government, need to have a political approach to solve this long pending political problem.
But, unfortunately, Kashmir has always remained victim of domestic compulsions for both Indian as well of Pakistani leadership,” he said.
“We appeal all the democratic voices to assert so that the cycle of terror and counter terror is put to an end to and bloodshed in Kashmir is stopped.
